MR. L. S. MOFFITT.
A well-known district identity and an esteemed resident of the Bukkulla district, Mr. Lewis Stanley Moffitt, passed away yesterday in the District Hospital, at the age of 42 years. The deceased gentleman was suffering from acute appendicitis when ordered to the hospital, but the appendix burst before be was admitted to the institution and peritonitis eventually supervened.
Born at Swanbrook, the late Mr. Moffitt lived around Inverell all his life, and purchased 'Asselby' from Mr. W. Anderson, on which property he conducted both farming and grazing. He married Miss Ella Forsyth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Forsyth, of 'Yarron Vale,' and the widow and four children survive, namely, Allen, Daphne, Elsie, and Owen. Two brothers- Harry and Herbert- live at Bukkulla and Sydney respectively, and there ore four sisters- Miss E. Moffltt (Newcastle), Mrs. .E Watson (Gravesend), Mrs. W. Gott (Nullamanna), and Mrs. S. Wan (Ben Lomond) . The funeral to the Church of Eng land portion of the Inverell cemetery, was conducted by the firm of C. S. Thorley yesterday afternoon after a service at St. Augustine's, at which the Vicar, Rev. E. H. Stammer officiated.
