    • When Robert's son James Whyte died 9Feb1900 his death certificate stated his parents as Robert Whyte (Shepherd) and Jean Marshall (both deceased).
      From the IGI - Robert Whyte b 27Mar1777 at Orwell, Kinross, son of Robert Whyte and Janet Henderson. No other children to this couple. Robert would have been 37 years of age when son James born.
      Jean Marshall was born 22Dec1776 at Fossoway & Tulliebole, Kinross, dau of James - siblings James b 1767 and Andrew b 1770 - no other details.
      Robert Whyte married Jean Marshall 12Nov1810 at Fossoway & Tulliebole in Kinross.
      There is also another marriage for a Robert Whyte and Jean Marshall at neighbouring Forgandenny in Perth. The date for this marriage is 10Nov1810.
      The 1841 Census has a Robert Whyte aged 70,living at Main St, Kinross, a Cotton Hand Loom Weaver born in Kinrosshire. Also in the 1841 Census there is a Jean Whyte aged 60, living at Main St, Milnathort, Independent born in Kinrosshire.
      Nil further known of Robert and Jean Whyte nee Marshall.
