    • In the 1841 Census for the Parish of Orwell, County Kinross - in the village of Milnathort at 5 New Road - There lives a Janet Mailler aged 55 of Independent means with three daughters - Euphemia, Janet and Margaret.
      In the 1851 Census, Village of Milnathort, District 2, p 44.
      Janet is now Head of Household, aged 66, a proprietor, born Forgandenny, Perth.
      With her is her granddaughter Janet Whyte, aged 12, born Orwell (parents James and Jane Whyte nee Mailler).
      Janet died 29Jul1857 at Milnathort of Palsy aged 73 years. She was buried in the Orwell Church Yard. The informant at her death was William Yule (son-in-law), Shoemaker.
      At the time of her death, her husband David Mailer and both her parents - Henry Horn and Jean Davidson, were deceased.
