- Ann was born 13Apr1854 in Keith, Banffshire to James Forsyth and Ann Shand.
In the 1861 Census Ann(e) Forsyth 6 and brother James 8 living with grandparents Robert and Anne Shand at Mid St, Keith.
In 1871 Ann is aged 16 Servant/Tablemaid in the home of Joseph Ogilvie in Keith.
On 27Apr1874 at Keith Annie married James Wallace, a Print Compositor, Ann signed her name on her marriage certificate as Annie,
so she was probably Annie to her friends & family.
By 1875 they were living in Campbeltown, Argyll, where her first two children were born (Ann 1875 and Catherine 1877).
Some time between 1877 and 1880 they moved to Greenock in Renfrewshire.
In the 1881 Census Ann and James Wallace were living at 34 Mount Pleasant St in Greenock West. Their children were Ann 5, Catherine 3 and Jane 1.
Ann's brother William 21 was living with the family.
In 1891 the family lived at 106 Dempster St, Greenock West. Their children were Ann 15, Catherine O 13, Jane 11, James 9 and Margaret Forsyth 2.
In 1901 the family had moved to 19 Wellington St, Greenock and four of their five children were still living with them - Catherine S 23, Jane 21, James 19 and Margaret T 12.
In the 1911 Census the family is living at 3 Armadale Place, Greenock. James 64 Compositor (Newspaper), Ann 56 and daughter Margaret Forsyth aged 22,
Single, working as Clerkess (Newspaper Office). In 1917 Margaret Forsyth was witness at the second marriage of her sister Annie to Richard M McCabe.
Ann died 9Mar1924 at 13 Nelson St, Greenock aged 69 years - cause of death hard to decipher on Death Cert.
