- James Alexander Whyte Forsyth was born 10Nov1881 at Stirling in Scotland.
In the 1891 Census James and his brother Robert Whyte Forsyth, aged 9 and 6 years, are living with their grandparents
James and Jane Whyte at Causewayhead House, Causewayhead, Logie (Perth Dist No 374, Book 10, Page 2).
In 1901 the Forsyth family is all together at Dundyvan Rd, Old Monkland in Lanarkshire. Father Michael B and mother Helen are both aged 44.
James A W is 19 and Robert W is 16 and both are working as Number Takers at the Railway Clearing House with their father.
Michael B Jnr 14, Jane M 12, Ann S 10, Andrew 8 and Helen 7 are all scholars. A visitor, Ann Christie Watson aged 21 was with the family -
soon to be married to James - in 1905.
At the time of his marriage James was a Clerk with the Railway Clearing House (as was his father) and a bachelor living at Bruce Street, Stirling. He was 23.
James married Ann Christie Watson after banns according to the forms of the United Free Church on 30Jun1905 at the bride's home -
Ivanhoe Cottage, Cambuskenneth in Stirling - Ann was aged 25. Her parents Thomas Watson (Harbour Master) and Elizabeth Stewart were both deceased in 1905.
The minister was Thomas Wright of Erskine St, Stirling and the witnesses were Samuel Jeffrey and Margaret Watson (Ann's older sister).
Searches made for James and Ann in 1911 Census in both England and Scotland - not found.
