The deceased was born at Ulladulla, South Coast, and came to Armidale several years ago. He imme diately established himself a favorite in the sporting community, and liber ally assisted all codes, particularly the Rugby League. The Cashman Cup, for which keen rivalry exists, was pre sented by the late Mr. Cashman. The esteem in which deceased was held was evident by the unusually large attendance of friends at the funeral, which took place on Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Canon Riley conducted the service, and also read the Masonic burial service. Members of the Ma sonic Lodge encircled the grave. The pall-bearers were: Messrs. G. Susans, J. Browning, and F. Antill (Masonic Lodge), M. M'Lennan, J. Kelly, and A. Faint (Armidale Bowling Club). The deceased, leaves a widow, two daughters (Mrs. Heagney, Misses Al ice and Venda (Armidale), and one son, Horace (Werrls Creek). Pid dingtens conducted the arrangements.
