INVERELL WEDDING WAS OF
INTEREST TO TWO STATES
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Inverell, was chosen by Miss Dulcie Rita Hamel, twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Hamel, of 'Rockwood,' Nullamanna, for her marriage to Mr. John Mathew Colley, eldest son of Mrs. H. A. Colley, of Stanthorpe, and the late Mr. Colley.
Rev. N. Monsen performed the ceremony.
The church was beautifully decorated with dahlias, roses and zinnias.
The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very dainty in her frock of lace over marquisette and organdie. The gown was beautifully fashioned with a three tiered skirt of pleated marquqisette, at the back of which fell a long full train of white lace. The bodice was very attractive. It had a pretty yoke of gathered marquisette with a V - shaped neckline, while the long sleeves were also of gathered marquisette trimmed with tiny buttons. Mrs. Kevin Phillips, of Inverell. kind ly loaned the beautifully ermbroldered two tiered veil, which held in place the halo of or ange blossoms .
For her bouquet the bride chose gladioli, frangipanni and tube-roses, with a background of greenery and white Satin streamers. The lovelv wedding gown, which was greatly admired, was made by Mrs. E. Grtffen, of Inverell
Two bridesmaids and dainty flower girl attended the bride. They were her twin sister. Miss Nita Hamel. and Miss Maureen Hamel and Miss Jeanette Hamel, cousins of the bride. They were attractively frocked in mauve embroidered net over taffeta. Each gown was prettly styled with a very full circular s'kirt and a closely fitted bodice with a large Bertha collar. To match their gowns each attendant wore a dainty beanie, trimmed with a large tulle bow and mauve flowers. Their mittens also matched. Each carried bouquet of gladdoli and asters
while similar blooms made up the flower girl's dainty posy
The bridegroom's brother, Mr. Herb Colley. was best man, and Mr. Ron Mclntyre grooms man.
As the register was being sgned Mr. Arthur Hughes sang 'Until,' accompanied by Mrs. Charles Bartlett. organist.
The bride's mother, who received about 130 guests at the Butler Hall, where the reception was held was very smart in a mushroom pink crepe frock, prettily beaded in white to which she pinned a shoulder spray of pink rosebuds. Her accessories were in junior navy.
The bridegrooms mother assisted Mrs. Hamel also looked very smart in a model frock of navy relieved by a shoulder spray of red rosebuds. Mrs. Colleys accessories, including a
very smart hat. were all black
When the young couple left for their honeymoon, which was spent in Queensland, the bride looked smart in a lime green model frock of moss crepe to which she added off tan accessories.
Many beautiful gifts were received, as well as cheques and telegrams and messages of congratulation came from many parts of the state.
Prior to their marriage the young couple were enterained at Nullamanna Hall where many friends gathered to wish them every hapniness Mrs. A. Brown formally handeded to the bride a very large array of lovely gifts, which were acknowledged bv Mr Colley on behalf of his fiancee.
MRS. J. M. COLLEY, who before her mar riage was Miss Dulcie Rita Hamel. twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Hamel, of 'Rockmount,' Nullamanna.
