  The Inverell Times (NSW : 1899 - 1954) Wednesday 30 September 1931 p 4 Mrs. Margaret Smith, who died at the residence of her-daughter, Mrs. A. Gardner, Holkham-avenue, Randwick, recently, at the age of 74 years, was a member of the Forsyth family, of Inverell. She was born at Port Macquarie, and often spoke of her experi ences with bushangers in her childhood days. On one occasion she was riding a horse when she was approached by Thunderbolt. He wanted her horse, but she declined to give up the animal. It was the bushranger's boast that he would not rob a girl, and he allowed her to pass. Mrs Smith admitted having given food to the bush ranger, Starlight, and also to Thunderbolt, at different times. Her husband, Mr. Harry Smith, is a grazier, and has owned a number of properties in the Inverell district.
