  Thomas Grearson was an itinerant, moving around with his family from Sydney, where he married, to Queensland, then Victoria (where his Wife's Parents lived), then to New South Wales, where his last four children were born. He became an alcoholic and he and his Wife Eizabeth Ann separated at some time, as she died in Queensland and he died in New South Wales.. On 8 February 1928 Elizabeth Ann put an advertisement in the Brisbane Courier, announcing the engagement of her daughter Edith May. It was probably expedient to 'gild the lily' as to his whereabouts as she was living at Milton without her husband. The announcement described his absence as'.....and the late Mr. T. Grearson,.....'.
