They are on the US census in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1870 with children James, age 28, Robert age 26, David age 21, Jane age 17, William age 15 and Mary age 6 all children except Mary were born in England. Several of their children died there: James born 1841 died 29 May 1875, Robert born 24 Nov 1842 died 6 Jul 1913, Ellen (Helen) born 1851 died 24 Jun 1867, William born 1854 died 19 Dec 1875 (single), Jane born 1853 died 22 Jul 1881 and Mary born in 1865 died 30 Jan 1891. The father David died there in 1897 at the age of 81. Their son Robert married in Betsy in 1873 and their son David was married in Massachusetts in 1906 to Pricilla Jones. The marriage record says he was the son of David Forsyth and Mary Morrison.
