IN THE WORLD OF WOMEN
WING-FORSYTH
Wedding at St. John's
The wedding was celebrated at St.
John's Church, Launceston, on June 13
of Winifred Edna, fourth daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. W. Forsyth, Mayne
street, and Clement William, young
est son of Mrs. I. Wing and the late
Mr. John Wing, of South-street, Inver
may. The ceremony was performed by
Rev. W. Greenwood, and as the bride
entered the church, escorted by her
father, Mr. A.R. Gee played "The
Bridal March."
The bride was charming in a frock of
ivory corded silk. The cowl neck was
caught at either side with a silver clip,
and the full length sleeves hung
loosely from the elbow. The train, cut
in the frock, tapered to a point, and
over it fell a veil of tulle, which was
pleated to form a halo at the back of
the head, and held in position by a
wreath of orange blossom. A spray of
orange blossom was also worn at the
waist. Her bouquet was a sheaf of
pink carnations, asparagus fern, and
white heath, tied with ivory ribbon.
The bridesmaid, Miss Marjorle For
syth (sister of the bride wore a full
length frock of pale pink marocain,
with cowl neck and sleeves which fitted
tightly below the elbow. The fullness
of the skirt was given by two frills
at each side, and covered buttons met
the girdle of silk cord which was tied
at the back. She wore a hat of pink
velvet to match, and carried a bouquet
of pink carnations.
Little Ruth Kidd, the train-bearer,
wore a long frock of blue organdie, with
hat to match, and little Freda Ander
son, who carried the cushion, was
dressed in pink organdie, with hat to
match.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr.
Frank Reid, and while the register was
being signed Mr. Fred. Fry sang "Be
cause,"
As the bride came down the aisle two
horseshoes were hung on her arm, one
by Miss Flo Richardson, and one by
little Miss Shirley Wing.
The bride's mother wore a costume of
striped worsted material, and carried a
posy of violets. The bridlegroom's
mother wore a navy ensemble, and also
carried a posy of violets.
The bride was taken to the church
by Mr. P. Taylor, of Hobart (friend of
the family). After the ceremony the
guests were entertained by the bride's
parents at their home. The cake was
made by the bride's mother, and
decorated by Mr Yates.
The bride travelled in a tunic frock
of royal blue, with hat to match.
Mr. and Mrs. Wing's future home
will be at Stanley.
