      TAYLOR-GATES.
A coronet of orange blossom held the cut tulle veil covering the shirred gown of white tinsel cloque worn by Miss Alice Gates, elder daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edmond Gates, of Longueville, for her marriage at St. Stephen's Church, last night, to Mr. Laurence Taylor, elder son of the late Mr. W. Taylor and Mrs. W. Ord Taylor, of Longueville.
Three bridesmaids, Misses Margaret Russ, Kathleen Inch, and Joyce Gates attended the bride. Their gowns of crushed strawberry velvet were made with shirred bodices and skirts, and they added latticed halos of the same material with velvet flowers across the back. Their bouquets were of pink and mauve sweet peas with touches of green.
The Rev. D. McDiarmld officiated at the ceremony, and Messrs. H. Chedgey, Gordon Taylor, and A. D. C. Tuthlll were groomsmen
Wearing a gown of amethyst velvet, with a spray of orchids fastened to her matching muff, Mrs. Gates received the guests at the Pickwick Club, where the reception was held. She was assisted by Mrs. Taylor, whose gown was of powder-blue lace, and she carried cream roses.
The bride left in a tailored suit of bottle green tweed, worn with stonemarten furs.
