SCHULZE-FORSYTH. - July 29, at St. Michael's Church, Surry Hills, by the Rev. Hulton King, Carl Oscar, second son of the late Constantin Schulze, of Leipzig, Germany, to Nellie, third daughter of A. Forsyth, Esq., Manila House, Bourke-street, Surry Hills.

Schulze-Forsythe.
Wednesday, 29th ultimo, was not exactly the day one would choose for a wedding, for instead of cloudless sunshine, so necessary for wedded happiness, according to the old distich, clouds and rain attended the party who entered St. Michael's Church, Surry Hills. The aisle was prettily decorated with a floral arch, composed of red, white, and blue streamers, lilies, foliage, and violets. The chancel window bore on a white ground the appropriate inscription in green letters, " God Bless You," all in honor of Miss Ellen, third daughter of Mr. Archibald Forsythe, of "Manila House," Bourke-street, Surry Hills, who became wife of Mr. Carl Oscar Schulze, C.E.

The bride, a tall graceful girl, looked exceeding well in her bridal robes of white satin, ornamented with lace flounces and cream plush square train, orange blossom wreath, and tulle veil. Her bridesmaids, eight in number, Misses Forsyths (4), Emmett, Evans, and Small (2), wore very taste-fully arranged costumes of cream veiling, with vests, collar, and cuffs of ruby plush, straw hats, and cream feathers. To the strains of a wedding march, played by Mrs. Palmer, the party left the church and drove to Compagnoni's for the dejeuner, and Mr. and Mrs. Schulze proceeded to the mountains for the honeymoon. WEDDINGS.
WARREN?CODRINGTON-FORSYTH.
On Saturday last the wedding took place at
St. John's Church, of Kathleen, daughter of the
late Mr. C. H. and Mrs. Warren, to Lieut. Hugh
C. Codrington-Forsyth, R.N.R., son of the late
Rear-Admiral and Mrs. Codrington-Forsyth, of
Herts, England. The church, beautifully deco-
rated with autumn leaves, roses, and dahlias
made a charming setting to the bride, who was
given away by her uncle (Mr. Frank Downer).
She wore a gown of white gauze, emhossed with
velvet flowers, which was draped in classical
fashion round her figure, and caught on the left
hip with a lovely pearl ornament. The large
flowing sleeves, which were of georgette, and the
short panel train were a graceful addition. The
narrow coronet-shaped wreath of orange blossom
on her head held in place a most becoming tulle
veil, lent by Mrs. Howard. The bridegroom's
gift of a diamond and sapphire pendant was
worn, which matched the bridegroom's mother's
present of a diamond and sapphire cluster ring.
The bridesmaids were Misses Betty and Kathe-
rine Bonython, who were in the sweetest frocks
of shell pink taffeta. The frock of the elder
maid was a most attractive early Victorian mode!
with long-waisted bodice and full skirt trimmed
with ruchings of the material, while posies of
lemon, rose, and silver gave a delightful colour
relief. On her head was a pale pink tulle veil
with a wreath of silver and lemon and rose and
silver flowers. She carried a posy of the same
tied with silver ribbons. The wee bridesmaid
wore a miniature edition of this ttoilette, and
carried a silver basket filled with rose leaves,
which she scattered in front of the bridal couple
as they left the church. The bridegroom, who
was in naval uniform, was attended by Mr.
Arthur Champion as best man, the ceremony be-
ing performed by the Revs. R. P. Hewgill and
H. P. Finniss.
After the ceremony a reception was held at
Lvndhurst, South Terrace, the home of the bride's
aunt (Mrs. Schomburgk), where the guests were
received by the bridal couple and. Mrs. C.
H. Warren, who wore a handsome black crepe
marocain trimmed with radium lace with a
becoming black hat. Mrs. Lavington Bonython
wore a smart frock of black-beaded georgette,
which was caught on the waist with a turquoise
ornament of Egyptian design, while her be-
coming black hat was adorned with another hand-
some turquoise cabuchon.
Other guests were Mrs. Schomburgk in a black
charmeuse frock with raised design in velvet
flowers and black hat; Mrs. Warren (aunt of the
bride), grey costume with black hat trimmed
with orange; Mrs. Barr Smith, brown charmeuse
wixh sleeves of georgette, brown satin hat;
Mrs. Arthur Champion, navy blue coat frock,
purple hat; Miss Rivaz, black cbarmeuse-beaded
frock with georgette sleeves, black hat; Mrs.
F. P. Howard, black frock and becoming black
hat; Mr. Otto Schomburgk, Mr. J. L. Bonython.
Mr. Jack Bonython, Miss Olive Slow, Miss P.
Schomburgk, Mr. H. Schomburgk, Mr. and Mrs.
J. Howard. Miss Barbara. Howard, Messrs.
Howard, Miss Molly and Mrs. T. Barr Smith jun.,
Mrs. H. C. Downer, Mrs. Hodges, Miss Fulton,
Mr. and Mrs. O. Hargrave, Mr. and Mrs. H.
C. Cave. Mr. Justice and Mrs. Angus Parsons,
Sir Langdon Bonython, Mrs. A. A. Hamilton,
Miss Lilla Hornabrook, Mr. and Mrs. H. Rivaz,
Mr. and Mrs. W. Warren, Miss M. Edwards,
Mrs. Moorhouse, and Miss A. Cave.
After inspecting the presents the guests par-
took of a sumptuous wedding breakfast, the
bride keeping to the good old custom of cutting
the wedding cake with her husband's sword;
then followed the usual speeches and toasts,
after which Mr. and Mrs. Codrington-Forsyth
departed on a motoring honeymoon, the bride
wearing a smart frock of navy cloth with touches
of dull Egyptian showing in the skirt and
sleeves, and a mushroom-shaped hat of gold
tissue lined with mole velvet and trimmed with
a scarf of mole tulle.

At The King's Funeral
WHEN on the Himalaya at the Outer Harbor last week I learnt while talking to some of the officers thatthey had information of the fact that Commodore Hugh Codrington - Forsyth, RNR, previous captain of this P and O liner, commanded all the merchant service men who marched at the King's funeral.
This will be interesting news to the commodore's many friends here because he -married an Adelaide-born girl, Miss Kathleen Warren, daughter of the late C. H. Warren, and sister of Lady Bonython.

It is with the deepest regret that we chronicle the sad death of Ian Forsyth, aged 3, the youngest son of
Mr. and Mrs. G. Forsyth, of "Glenarchy." He passed away at the District Hospital at 6.45 last night, after
an attack of diphtheria. He was admitted to hospital yesterday morning.
It is a sad shock to the parents who have the sympathy of this community.

Christ Church -was crowded last Wednesday to witness the marriage of Iris Eveline, second oldest daughter of .Mrs. E. Forsyth and the late Edwin Forsyth, of 'Werona,' Temora street, ' Cootamundra, and Kenneth William, son of Mr: and Mrs. William Corby, of 'Robo Farm,' Cootamundra. The Rev. Staples, of Junop, officiated.
The church was prettily decorated by the girlfriends of the bride. The service was choral, and the choir sang 'The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden,' as the bride entered the church on the arm of, her brother, Arthur, who also gave her away.
The bride, wore a pretty frock of ivory crepe-de-chene and knife pleated georgette. Her embroidered tulle veil was arranged mop cap fashion with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white dahlias, double fringed, petunias, flesh tinted roses and maiden hair fern, tied with tu/i* streamers, and wore a gold armlet, the gift of the bridegroom.
The bridesmaid, Miss Stella Forsyth, wore a frock of powder blue georgette and a hat of black georgette and lace, and carried a bouquet of apricot tiger lilies and maiden hair fern, which, together with an armlet, were the bridegroom's gifts. Mr. Ray, Mutch .acted as best man. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a pair of engraved gold sleeve links.
While the register was being signed Mrs. T. Baker (Sydney), rendered in pleading style, the solo, 'Beloved it Is Morn.' As the bridal party left the church the organist, Mr. Abraham, played the wedding march.
The reception was held at the Parish Hall, where Mrs. Forsyth received the guests in a frock of black morocain and black hat. The usual toasts were honored, and several musical items were rendered by Mrs. Baker and Mr O. Johnstone. Later the happy couple left by the Albury
mail for Sydney and the mountains, where the honeymoon is being spent, Mrs. Corby, travelled in a dainty frock of cinnamon morocaln, with touches of oriental and hat to suit

12885/1914 FORSYTH STEPHEN JAMES CATHERINE LIVERPOOL

The Snowy River Mail and Tambo and Croajingolong Gazette (Orbost, Vic. : 1890 - 1911) Saturday 23 September 1899 p 3
DEATH. OF MR. JAS. FORSYTH.
The residents of Orbost were deeply
pained a few weeks ago to learn that
Mr. James Forsyth, a prominent resi-
dent of this district, was seriously ill
with cancer in the lip. Some ten
years ago an operation was performed
on him, when a growth, which a pro-
minent surgeon of Melbourne did not
think was cancer but which he said
might develop into one, was success-
fully removed, with the result that
Mr. Forsyth afterwards enjoyed an
immunity from anything of the kind
until about four months ago, when it
was evident that he had cancer. No
time was lost in obtaining the best
medical advice and in undergoing an
operation, but his case was soon pro-
nounced to be hopeless. He began to
suffer severely about two months ago,
and gradually got worse until about
five o'clock on Sunday evening last,
when, at the age of 60, he expired at
Footscray in the presence of several
of his relatives.
Mr. Forsyth was born in Scotland
and came to Victoria in the early days.
He spent some time on the gold-fields
in New Zealand and was baking for
some years in the Ovens district.
Later on he kept a general store in
Germanton, New South Wales, and
came to Orbost about ten years ago.
Although Mr. Forsyth did not take
a very prominent part in public
matters affecting this district, he
worked hard in keeping our agricul-
tural society together during his term
of office as president. He was very
popular in the district, and his death,
which is sincerely regretted by a large
number of friends, has left a gap that
will be noticeable for a long time to
come.
Mr Forsyth leaves a widow, three
sons and three daughters. One of his
daughters, Mrs Sefton, is the wife of
a station-master in New South Wales;
Mrs W. Fisher, the second daughter,
resides in Orbost, and the youngest,
Miss C. Forsyth, is a nurse in the
Bendigo Hospital. Mr George Forsyth
is in business in Orbost, and the other
sons are in New South Wales.
