An Interesting Ryde Wedding
On Wednesday afternoon the Wesleyan Church, Ryde, was the scene of a very pretty and interesting wedding, and one that created unusual interest among the villagers. The contracting parties were Mr. Edward H. Forsyth, eldest surviving; son of Mr. John Forsyth, of Gladesville road, Ryde, and Miss Folbigg, eldest sur viving daughter of the late Mr. Justus Folbigg, of Stevenage, Hertfordshire, Eng land. Mr. Edward Forsyth has only recently returned from a three years sojourn in the Golden West, and it was there that he met Miss Folbigg, who has also recently come over from West Australia. The interior of the church had been very prettily and even artistically decorated for the occasion, with white flowers and butter cups, by the young ladies of the congrega tion. The bride drove to the church, accompanied by her future father-in-law, Mr. John Forsyth, who gave her away, Mr. J. W. Donaldson being best man. The important ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. H. Beale, and Miss Short played the Wedding March as the young couple left the church. There was a very large attendance at the church, and the bride looked very charming and happy in a neat fitting and particularly becoming costume of white silk zephyr, with court train, trimmed with orange blossoms and chiffon, and she also wore the customary wreath and veil. The bridesmaids were Miss Elsie and Miss Florrie Forsyth, sisters of the bridegroom who also appeared to advantage in-pretty costumes of white silk zephyr trimmed with chiffon and buttercup hats to match. They likewise carried beautiful bouquets, the product of Rosewall, and each wore a gold brooch and gold ring set with rubies and pearls, the gifts of the bridegroom. Immediately after the ceremony the newly married couple, amid showers of confetti, and with the best wishes of all assembled ringing in their ears drove to 'Rosewall,' the well-known residence of the bride groom's parents, where a reception was held and light refreshments par- taken of, the guests numbering about 50. The bride and bridegroom were after wards photographed on the lawn, as were also the members, of the bridegroom's family and visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Forsyth said Au Bevoir but not good bye to Rosewall and its numerous occupants about 7 o'clock, and drove direct to- their new and beautiful home at. Mossman's. It is a handsome villa residence and together with the furniture was given to the fortunate bridegroom as a marriage gift by his grandfather. The other wedding presents, which were costly and handsome, combining use and ornament, were so numerous that they occupied most of the space in one of the spacious rooms of Rosewall, and were greatly admired by the assembled guests. Mrs. J. Forsyth, mother of the bride was attired in a pretty black silk grenadine trimmed with white satin chiffon, and she wore a white satin and rose pink bonnet with black tips and jewel ornaments. Among the guests were : ? Mrs. R. Forsyth, sen., black brocade, passementerie and white chiffon trimmings; Mrs. R. Forsyth, jun., floral silk and handsome toque to match ; Mrs. Hellingworth, black silk costume, black and white bonnet; Mrs. Barton, black silk ; Mrs. Coulter, pea green shot silk ; Miss Coulter, floral muslin, her sister, apricot colored viole costume and cream silk ; Miss Forsyth, light green lustre with point lace; Mrs. W. Turner, black silk ; Mrs. A. J. Turner, cream silk ; Miss Glynn, white liberty silk ;. Miss Jenkins, white muslin and white hat to match ; Mrs. G. Wicks, black silk with very pretty black and white bonnet ; Miss Wicks, black grenadine over white silk, Parisian hat ; Miss Forsyth (sister of the bridegroom), pale blue trimmed with white satin, and cream hat ; Miss Lizzie Forsyth (another sister of the bridegroom), white over' pink sailor costume and French hut in delicate pink and blue ; Miss Faulkiner, fawn and cream silk costume with chiffon hat to match : Miss Hollingworth, pink muslin; the Misses Newman, floral muslin; Mrs. Lea, floral brocade piped with pale blue. Among the gentlemen present were the Rev. W. H. Beale. Dr. Forsyth, cousin of the bridegroom, Mr. R. Forsyth, sen., Mr. R. Forsyth jun., Messrs. W. C. Barton, J. W. Donaldson, H. Hames, A. E. Lea and others.

OBITUARY.
EDWIN JAMES FORSYTH
A gloom was cast over the show yesterday by the sudden death on the ground of Mr E. J. Forsyth, of "Glenarchy" West Jindaree, a vice president of he Show Association, and one of the oldest members and trustees. Deceased, who was 63, had been ill. The family, did not think it wise for him to come in to the show; but he had always been an enthusiastic sup porter of the annual function, and felt that he must be among his old friends for the occasion. Chatting, with some friends, about 4 o'clock, he remarked, "I feel a pain here! '. putting his hand over his heart, but apparently neither he 'nor they thought it anything serious. Shortly afterwards he was strolling across the ring, by himself, and was seen to fall. Folk ran to him, and Dr. Brennan, who was on the ground, was called over; but, so far as we can hear, our old friend did not speak again. It was, indeed, a sudden call. The wife and the family were at the show, also a sister of deceased, Mrs. Chas. Ryalls, sen., who was on a visit. To all of them and other relatives the death was a great shock, as it was to the show officials with whom deceased had worked for so many years. He had been a member since the inception of the society, and still proudly kept a trophy he won at the first show, forty years ago. One of the most consistent annual exhibitors, at times his entries made a young show in themselves. For a district display Mr. "Eddie" Forsyth could always be relied upon to contribute a good variety of excellent quality, for he was one of the best of our farriers and graziers. The ring events were postponed for the balance of yesterday afternoon, out of respect; but the family later sent a message desiring that no further departures from the public programme be made, as they considered that deceased would have wished everything to go on in the usual way. The smoke social was, therefore, proceeded with last night, in a modified form. The sons and daughters are Arthur, Wallendbeen; Lou, Jindalee; George, Jindalee, and Misses Stella, Iris, Myrtle and Gwen. A son, Allen, was killed at the war. Mr. L. P. Forsyth, ex-Mayor of Wallendbeen, is a brother. The funeral was fixed for 2 o'clock this afternoon.

FOUR GENERATIONS.
At last meeting of No. 123, Randwick, Mr. Eric Forsyth, son of Bro. W. H. Forsyth, of Willoughby, was initiated. This makes the fourth generation of the Forsyth family ini tiated into No. 123. This fact constitutes a record for Australia. Three generations filled the office of Worshipful Master, which also is unique, and may also be a record, the holders being Mr. Jas. Forsyth, Mr. Robert Forsyth, and Mr. "W. H. Forsyth. The last is well known as past secretary of No. 123. Members would like to
know if any lodge can boast of this record.
