MRS. ELLEN FORSYTH
Mrs. Ellen Forsyth, 80, well-known, resident of Cootamundra and district, passed away in the Sacred Heart Hos
pital on Sunday, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Forsyth was the widow of the late Mr. E. J. Forsyth, of "Glenarchy," who died in 1922. She was born at Delegate in 1865, being a member of the well-known Mutch family.
In her childhood days the late Mrs. Forsyth lived on "Mannamite," now owned by Mr. Max McClintock. She
married at Cootamundra. After the death of her husband she came to live at Cootamundra, and has resided in
Temora street since 1943.
Sons and daughters are Arthur, Lew, George, of the Cootamundra district, and Stella (Mrs. Hope Johnson, Melbourne), Iris (Mrs. Ken Corby, Cootamundra), Myrtle (Mrs. E. S. Taylor, Melbourne), and Gwen (Mrs. W. J. Sheehan, Cootamundra).
Mrs. E. A. Williams, of Temora street, is deceased's only surviving sister. Brothers who predeceased her were Tom, Joseph, John, Robert, Sam, James, and George.
Even until a few months ago Mrs. Forsyth was a keen gardener. It was her big hobby in the later stages of
her life.
The funeral left the Church of England at 5 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, and was very representative of
district friends of the esteemed family.
Rev. A. W. Harris officiated at the graveside.

arm of her father, who gave her away.
She was attired in an exquisite gown
of ivory French lace, made on classic
lines, with a long train cut into the
skirt. Her tulle veil was surmounted
by a lace cap, and held in place by a
wreath of orange blossoms. She car
ried a shower bouquet of frangipauui
and Cecil Bruuner roses.
The bridesmaids were Misses N.
Harradine (Sydney), Zarah Macart
ney (Ballina), and Mary Nott (Armi
dale). They were frocked alike in
ankle-length gowns of honey spotted
net, with sashes of autumn tonings.
They carried bouquets of autumn
tinted flowers with trails of frangi
panni.
Mr. Reg. Nott (brother of the bride)
acted as best man and Messrs. Harold
Meise and Jack Nott were the grooms
men.
During the signing of the register
the bride's aunt, Mrs. A. L. Stewart,
sang "My .Prayer."
A reception was afterwards held at
"Regzona," about 90 guests being re
vcived by Mrs. Nott, who wore a gown
if mulberry flat crepee. with bouquet to
tone, and Mrs. N. Browne, the bride
groom's sister, who wore white pebble
crepe with a red satin coat and bou
quet to tone.
The bridegroom's parents were both
prevented by illness from being pres
ent
Mr. Morgan Stephens presided at the
breakfast table, where toasts appro
bate to the occasion were duly hon
oured. and a happy hour was spent. ;
The remainder of the evening was de
voted, to dancing
The young couple left by the Bris
bane express for Sydney, where the
honeymoon is to be spout. The bride's
travelling frock was of black and
white check taffeta with black net and
'paulettes and flounces, with hat to
tone.
A large number of gifts, including
several cheques, was received.
The flowers were from Sydney, the
wedding cake of four tiers was made
by McShane's, and Mrs. Bishop had
charge of the catering arrangements.

1948 Irene Perla born at Warrill View. Married her cousin Basil Forsyth.

After their marriage Perla and Basil moved to his parents farm in Limestone Ridges, near Harrisville. For many years they raised dairy cattle and grew beans, tomatoes and watermelons. Life was very hard during the war years, and after Basil
died in 1978 Perla was left to run the farm with the help of sons Les and Don.

Perla died in July 1998 at the age of 87 Years. She loved traveling and after the death of Basil, she saw a great deal of Australia, as well as England, Scotland and Europe.
