WEDDING
IN ST. ANDREW'S PRESBYTERIAN
CHURCH this afternoon the wedding was
solemnised of Miss Estelle Jean McPhee.
younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P
McPhee, Auchenflower, to Mr Harry
Wentworth Moore, elder son of Mr. and
Mrs. H. R. Moore, Eagle Junction.
Rev. Mervyn Henderson officiated, and
the bride's father gave her away. She
wore a full length frock of beauty pink
chenille, sheer mounted on satin. Cut on
peasant line, it featured a draped bodice
and short cowled sleeves, finished by
velvet bows to match those at the waist.
Her summer felt hat was arranged with a
veil which fell over her face when she
entered the church. She also wore an old
chain and pearl necklet and carried a
rope of pink roses and cream frangi-
pani.
HYACINTH BLUE.
The only bridesmaid. Miss Elva Cannon,
was frocked in hyacinth blue chenille
sheer over satin, cut with a shirred panel
in front of the soft bodice. Scalloping
gave a finish to the short sleeves, and the
waist was fashioned in cummerbund effect.
She added a hat to tone and carried a
bouquet of pink radiance roses.
The bridegroom's brother, Mr. Allan
Moore, attended him a best man.
The reception was held at the Can-
berra. where the decorations were in pink
tonings. Mrs. McPhee (mother of the
bride) favoured brown sheer mousse
trimmed with teal appliques and allied
with a brown felt hat and a bouquet of
Talisman roses. Colver crepe mousse and
a black grosgrain hat were the choice of
Mrs. Moore (mother of the bridegroom).
On leaving for the honeymoon, which
will be spent touring the Northern River
district of New South Wales, the bride
dorned blue tarn romance crepe defined
by a quilted cummerbund. She added
burgundy accessories.

At St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church, Creek Street, this morning,
the marriage was solemnised of Mr.
Athol Mervyn E. Wearne, the youngest
son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wearne, of
Melbourne, and Miss Jessie Agnes
McPhee, eldest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. P. McPhee, of Dunmore Terrace,
Auchenf lower, Brisbane.
Rev. Normam S. Millar officiated
and Mr. Harold Rogers presided at the
organ.
The bride, who was given away by
her father, wore a frock of mole
shaded wool crepe de chine fashioned
with a high neck caught with steel
ornaments and cut to display a
tailored effect. It was worn with a
graduated matching cape edged. with
brown fur. Her brown felt hat was
caught up at back by a bow. She
carried a bouquet -of violets and pink
roses.
Miss Estelle McPhee, sister of the
bride, attended as bridesmaid. She
wore a brown marocalne frock
trimmed with white velvet bows and
buttons and a felt hat to harmonise.
Her bouquet was of yellow roses. ' -
Mr. Jack McPhee, brother of the
bride, was best man.
The wedding breakfast was held at
Rowe's banquet hall. The bride's
mother received the guests wearing a
figured marlette frock showing, a
tucked coat of patterned velvet. She
wore also a silk tagel straw hat to
tone.
Mr. and Mrs. "Wearne left by the
Manunda this morning for Melbourne
where the honeymoon will be spent.

McPHEE-SLOAN WEDDING
At St. Thomas' Church, Toowong
At St. Thomas' Church of England,
Toowong, this evening, Rev. St. George
will officiate at the marriage of Mr. John
Peter McPhee, only son of Mr. and Mrs.
P. McPhee, Dunmore Terrace, Auchen-
flower, and Miss Dorothy Sloan, only
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Sloan, Mt
Cootha Road, Taringa. The bride, who
was given away, by her father, will be
gowned in heavy angel skin lace, made
on simple, close-fitting lines; and show-
ing a slight train-effect. Her ruched
tulle veil is held in place by a coronet
or orange blossoms and she will carry a
cable of frangipanni and lily of the
valley.
Misses Nell McCullough and Lilla Vol-
ler, who will attend as bridesmaids, will
be frocked in geranium satin made with
shoulder capes fastened to the square
neck-lines by diamante clips. The kilted
skirts are flared from the knees, and they
will carry American sheaves of frangi-
panni, The duties of best man will be
carried out by Mr. George Taylor. Mr.
Lincoln Sloan (brother of the bride) will
be groomsman. Mr. Herbert Coulter
will officiate at the organ.
At Rowe's, where the reception will
be arranged, pink roses will form the
decorations. Mrs. J. D. Sloan will re-
ceive her guests wearing a frock of
black ring velvet, and will carry a posy
of crimson roses. Black cotele, show-
ing a touch of white and finished with
diamente trimmings, will be the choice
of Mrs. P. McPhee (mother of the bride-
groom) whose posy will be of Rev. Page
Roberts roses.
On leaving for the honeymoon Mrs.
J. P. McPhee will wear a tailored cos-
tume of toast brown, to which she will
add a small matching hat.

St. Augustine's Church of England. Inverell was the scene of a quiet, but pretty wedding on Saturday night, when Elsie Doreen. youngest daughter of Mrs Moffltt of Bukkulla, and
the late Mr L S Moffltt was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to William Fair, eldest son of Mr and Mrs G Gilchrist also of Bukkulla.
The bride, who entered the church to the strains or the 'Wedding March.' was given away by her uncle, Mr J Hogg, and she was daintily attired in a gown of white bridal satin, cut with
a long train. Her tulle veil, kindly loaned by her cousin, Mrs G Cuyer, was finished with a coronet or orange blossoms, and her bouquet comprised white gladioli, dahlias and fern.
Miss Daphne Moffitt, sister of the bride, and Miss Joan Gilchrist, sister of the bridegroom, attended as bridesmaids and were frocked in blue and pink hallspot muslin, respectively, and
wore pleated tulle head-dresses, finished with orange blossoms. Both attendants carried bouquets of pink charm dahlias, blue delphiniums, and fern.
The bouquets were the work of Miss Thelma Golledge, of Ross Hill, and were much admired.
Mr Allan Moffltt brother of the bride, attended as best man and the duties of groomsman were carried out by Mr Jack Hansen.
The reception was held at Lundie's Cafe, where the usual toasts were honoured. Rev E H Stammer presided.
Mrs Moffitt received the guests, she was attired in navy and white crepe, with hat and shoes to tone, and carried a bouquet of pink gladioli, she was assisted by Mrs. Gilchrist (mother
of the bridegroom), who wore a black frock, relieved with gold and accessories to tone and carried a bouquet of pink asters.
The bride travelled in a navy and white sheer, with hat and shoes to tone.
The future home of the happy couple will be at Yetman. Prior to the wedding, the bride elect was entertained at a kitchen tea by her Bukkulla friends, and was presented with a very useful array of gifts.

WEDDING
GRANT-MOFFITT.
On January 25 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Inverell Rev A Edmunds officiated at the marriage of Miss Jessie Moffitt, second daughter of Mr and Mrs H E Moffitt of Bukkulla
to Mr Geoffrey Grant, also of Bukkulla.
The bride, who was given away byher father, chose a beautiful gown of white satin with appliqued heart-shaped neckline, the skirt falling in rich folds from the waistline into the train. The tulle bridal veil was held in position by a wreath of orange blossoms and the bride's bouquet was of pink and white gladioli and dahlias.
The bride was attended by theMisses Daphne Moffitt and Bessie Grills in most becoming frocks of aqua and daffodil French silk organdi with shirred bodices and frilled skirts. Their tulle halos were held in place by sprays of rosebuds and each carried matching tulle muffs with charme dahlias and asparagus fern.
Mr Charles Moffitt carried out the duties of best man, in the absence of Mr G Grant, of the RAAF, who was unable to attend, and Mr Alan Moffitt was groomsman.
The guests were afterwards entertained at Kautz's tea rooms, where they were received by the bride's mother wearing black satin back crepe. Mrs Moffitt was assisted by Mrs Stan Grills, of Bundarra, wearing navy striped sheer. Both carried posies of dahlias and asparagus fern, which, together with the bride's and bridesmaid's bouquets, were the work of the bridesmaid.
Rev A Edmunds presided at the wedding breakfast.
The bride travelled in a frock of blue satin back crepe with navy accessories.
The honeymoon is being spent on a motor tour.
Mr and Mr Grant will make their future home at Bukkulla.
Prior: to her manage the bride was entertained by her many friends at Bukkulla where she presented with a beautiful tea set.

MR. L. S. MOFFITT.
A well-known district identity and an esteemed resident of the Bukkulla district, Mr. Lewis Stanley Moffitt, passed away yesterday in the District Hospital, at the age of 42 years. The deceased gentleman was suffering from acute appendicitis when ordered to the hospital, but the appendix burst before be was admitted to the institution and peritonitis eventually supervened.
Born at Swanbrook, the late Mr. Moffitt lived around Inverell all his life, and purchased 'Asselby' from Mr. W. Anderson, on which property he conducted both farming and grazing. He married Miss Ella Forsyth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Forsyth, of 'Yarron Vale,' and the widow and four children survive, namely, Allen, Daphne, Elsie, and Owen. Two brothers- Harry and Herbert- live at Bukkulla and Sydney respectively, and there ore four sisters- Miss E. Moffltt (Newcastle), Mrs. .E Watson (Gravesend), Mrs. W. Gott (Nullamanna), and Mrs. S. Wan (Ben Lomond) . The funeral to the Church of Eng land portion of the Inverell cemetery, was conducted by the firm of C. S. Thorley yesterday afternoon after a service at St. Augustine's, at which the Vicar, Rev. E. H. Stammer officiated.
